You will be given details of your anaesthetist – Name and Contact Details – It’s important that you make contact with them and arrange an appointment well before your operation to allow time to do any tests required.
You will also need to arrange a pre-admission appointment with the hospital.
If you are having a colonoscopy you will be given an information sheet with instructions that must be followed prior to your procedure. Start two days prior with a diet change and a laxative to cleanse the bowel. It is extremely important that these instructions be closely followed, failure to do so correctly may result in the need to repeat the process and the procedure.
