COVID-19 Patient Information

Our Practice is Open

At this time, the practice is open for the usual trading hours, we are available to take phone calls and respond to emails from our patients and referring doctors (info@geraldtonsurgical.com.au) as per usual, with appointments for all services are proceeding as planned.

Dr Perry will continue to see new patients with referrals from their GP.

As the COVID-19 situation continues to change, the safety of our patients and staff remains our first priority as well as easing the burden from GP’s and hospital emergency departments.

New Appointments

If you are seeking an appointment with Dr Perry, please contact the practice on (08) 9964 3718. We offer telephone appointments for some follow up visits.

Social Distancing and Infection Control

As per the current health recommendations, we are implementing social distancing and additional infection control policies as follows:

  • Additional cleaning and sanitising of our practice to prevent viral transmission.
  • Hand sanitiser is available at the entrance of the specialist centre. Please ensure you use this before entering our rooms.
  • We have removed magazines and toys from our waiting room – we encourage you to bring your own and avoid sharing them with other patients.
  • We will have a maximum of two patients in our waiting room at any one time.

During your time in our clinic, we ask that you help us maintain a sanitary environment by:

  • Arriving at your appointment on time, not early or late and please wait behind the yellow line until invited to approach the desk.
  • Please bring your own pen and something to lean on while filling out paperwork.
  • Coughing and sneezing directly into your elbow, or into a tissue which can be immediately disposed of.
  • Avoiding handshakes, and other unnecessary physical contact.
  • We advise patients to come to their appointment on their own, where this is not possible, one support person is allowed to accompany you.

Due to the high transmission rate, we kindly ask that you delay your visit to the practice if you:

  • Experience any flu-like symptoms (coughing, fever, shortness of breath, muscular aches and pains, headache, sore throat).
  • Have been in recent contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Have recently returned from overseas travel.

If you are unwell or have been asked to enter quarantine or self-isolation, we ask that you notify us immediately on (08) 9964 3718 so we can assist by rescheduling your appointment.
